York is located in the north-central part of South Carolina along the North Carolina border, approximately 27 miles from the southwest of Charlotte, North Carolina. Adjacent countries include Gaston County, North Carolina in the north, Lancaster County in the east, Chester County in the south, and Cherokee County in the east.
